Information & Networking
SSILC staff participate in a variety of community initiatives related to increasing awareness of disability issues and improving access and inclusion for people with disabilities, and numerous other opportunities for networking and information sharing.
The Breakfast Club
In January, 2001, SSILC Employment Services established a forum called the “Breakfast Club” to assist us in working cooperatively with employers toward increasing awareness and opportunity for people with disabilities in the workplace. Over the last decade, the Breakfast Club has offered monthly sessions providing information and resources to Human Resources professionals and representatives of community-based disability organizations on a variety of topics related to disability and employment. In 2010, a Steering Committee was created for Breakfast Club, comprising representatives from government, crown corporations, business, and community-based organizations. the goal of the Steering Committee is to identify ways to increase the impact of the group, and to increase connections and involvement with employers from the business sector.

PIND is a province-wide network representing more than 40 community-based organizations that provide services, supports and advocacy to persons with disability and their families.
