SSILC offers a variety of programs that support people with disabilities to live independently in the community.
Employment Services Program
SSILC offers individualized stabilization and pre-employment supports to consumers to help with all aspects of understanding and managing their disability and gaining skills related to finding and maintaining their place in the workforce.
Entrepreneurs with Disabilities (EDP)
Our business consultant is available to offer information and supports to individuals interested in becoming entrepreneurs, or in expanding an existing operation. We work with individuals to create customized business plans, secure disability accommodations, and, if desired, provide access to business development training.
Supported Independent Living Program (SILP)
SILP facilitators provide one-to-one support for individuals with disabilities in their homes and community as they gain independent living skills, including self-advocacy, healthy living, and financial management.
Information & Networking
As a cross-disability agency, SSILC provides leadership and support toward creating a more inclusive community through our involvement in a variety of initiatives, and a strong network of partners and stakeholders. Consultation & training related to all aspects of disability awareness is available to businesses, community-based organizations, schools, and government.
Peer Support Program
SSILC supports the development and growth of consumer-driven projects and activities such as our monthly Open Mic event and Artist in Residence program. These activities offer our consumers opportunities to share their knowledge and talents with other community members and to build new connections and relationships.
