Welcome to SSILC Moose Jaw
637 Main Street North
We are excited to be a part of starting the new South Saskatchewan Independent Living Centre in Moose Jaw! We are conveniently located in downtown Moose Jaw, at the corner of Main Street and Hochelaga Street, and are just minutes from city bus routes.
SSILC offers pre-employment supports for persons with disabilities. To access our services, you must first receive a referral from Labour Market Services, located at 61 Ross Street (just a few minutes up the road by the Tim Horton’s).
On October 12, 2012 at 2:00pm, SSILC will be hosting the second film screening in our series, Shameless: The ART of Disability. This film, by producer Tracey Friessen and with the National Film Board of Canada, follows a group of artists with disabilities as they create their self-representations through art and expose the challenges and beauty in their lives. A discussion will follow the film.
This film screening is a precursor to an exciting event that will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 1:00pm. Listen to Dis’ Voice, a performance collective made up of people living with a diversity of disabilities, will be hosting a free workshop and performance. All are welcome to experience creative play and self-expression in a safe and supportive environment!
